Meitetsu Saikan

Good Chinese food on the fancier and nicer side. The service was good and fast. The crispy seafood noodles were delicious. It had crab, scallops, and prawns. The sauce on it was great. The crispy pork was not good. The texture was good but the taste of the sauce is not great. The meat also had lots of fat and cartilage. The mango dessert was just okay as so the shumai. The shumai was average. Overall, it’s really good depending what you order. The prices are on the higher side

Nobody minds waiting at Meitetsu Saikan, including us; when we were given our number there were eight groups in front of us. There are plenty of comfortable chairs, an assortment of local delicacies and a nice garden to gaze at. The Japanese don’t linger over long lunches, so it was only half an hour before we were guided to our table upstairs. Fujisan looms large and I envy those placed at the tables by the window. Not for long, as soon as we sat down we were given a steaming hot towel to wipe out hands. This restaurant serves Chinese food in Japanese style at its best. The mapodoofu, turnip rice cake(daikon-mochi), dumplings and spring rolls did not disappoint, and only 4000 yen for the two of us. The service is impeccable and just a few doors up the road, Tora-san is ready to serve a traditional Japanese dessert.
